More than 2,000 people are participating in LHV's “Investing for Beginners Basic Training Course” seminars

13.09.2022

A total of 2022 interested people have already registered for the “Investing for Beginners Basic Course”, a series of six free seminars that starts today. Successful graduates of the online course organised by LHV will receive a diploma and the necessary basic knowledge to start investing.
According to Sander Pikkel, Head of Brokerage at LHV, interest in the course has been unexpectedly high, which shows that the investment boom is far from over. ‘We invite both those who are planning to start investing and those who have already made their first investments to participate in the course,’ said Pikkel. ‘The investor community in Estonia has grown many times over in the past few years. As a market leader in investment services, we see that beginning investors often overly focus on topical stocks while ignoring the bigger picture. The high level of interest shows that putting together a course consisting of six webinars was the right decision – the need exists to provide interested parties with answers to important questions, provide an overview of investment opportunities, and explain the logic behind the functioning of stock exchanges. Hopefully, the course will be able to instil confidence in investors for the future,’ notes Pikkel.

In addition, everyone who completes the course and successfully passes the exam will also receive something tangible – a diploma. ‘We wanted the participants to also have a physical memory and proof that they had successfully
completed the course. A diploma does not guarantee successful investments or prevent possible falls, but it will help avoid many of the mistakes made by beginners. The final exam is based on what was discussed in the seminars and can be taken
just once,’ explains Pikkel.

The “Investing for Beginners Basic Training Course” will only take place in Estonian. Participation in the course is free of charge for everyone and you do not have to be a client of LHV. The seminars will be held online on six consecutive Tuesdays, starting on 13 September, and will also be available for viewing and listening upon request. This gives everyone the opportunity to participate, regardless of the location and time of day.

The opening seminar for the course “Investment ABC” will take place today, 13 September at 15:30. The seminar will provide answers to the questions of what investing is, how to start investing, and what you can invest in first, while also giving practical examples.

LHV has been organising investment-related seminars for those interested for more than 20 years. In total, almost 50,000 people have participated in the seminars over the years.
