As of today, 2 October, Tiit Hallas, one of the best security experts in the field in Estonia, will assume the position of Head of Information Security at LHV Pank.
Information security occupies a position of ever increasing importance in today’s world, since the role of IT in banking continues to grow. To LHV, as a modern, rapidly developing and security orientated bank, this means the continuous improvement of processes and security measures. ‘LHV’s growing importance on the Estonian banking market and its international ambitions demand ever greater contributions to information security. Which is why we are pleased to welcome Tiit to our team as the Head of the Information Security Department. His area of responsibility includes ensuring the security and development of electronic banking services,’ said Erki Kilu, Chairman of the Management Board of LHV Pank.
Tiit Hallas comes to LHV Pank from the IT and Development Centre of the Ministry of the Interior (SMIT), where he worked as the Head of Information Security from 2014. During the period 2006-2014, Hallas worked at Swedbank in various information security related positions, contributing to fraud identification as well as ensuring the security of electronic banking services. Hallas has applied his practical skills in the pan-European cyber-defence exercise Locked Shields. In addition, he is a member of the Estonian Defence League’s Cyber Unit.
‘LHV is a rapidly developing domestic financial institution in which I see great potential. The courage to develop new and innovative solutions in such a regulated world is well-suited to my values and character. My goal is to help them to securely bring their ambitions to life,’ commented Tiit Hallas. ‘The Bank’s goal is to be a reliable partner to its clients and a big part of this is the offering of secure electronic banking services. I believe that my technical knowledge and current experience in the financial and public sectors allows me to offer value to the Bank as well as its clients,’ added Hallas.
